James Cook
*October 27, 1728 James Cook was born in a place in Yorkshire, England called Marton, now it is part of Middlesbrough.
*1736-1745 James Cook's family moved to Great Ayton and he attended a local school.
*1755 James Cook joined the Royal Navy.
*1762 James Cook married Elizabeth Batts.
*1763-1767 James Cook observed the coast of Newfoundland during summer periods and returned to England during winter.
*1768 James was chosen to lead an expediton to the Southern Seas.
*1769-1770 circumnavigated New Zealanad.
*1773 James and his crew were the first recorded ship to cross the Antratic circle.
*1774 James decieded to attemp another search for the Southern Continent.
*1776 Cook sailed in attempt to search for the North West passage.
*1778 Before James and his crew sailed to find the North West passage they set sail to the Hawaiian Islands.
*1779 Cook finally reached the Hawaiin Islands, there he was killed on Kealakekua Bay.
*1780 The news of Cook's death reached his family.
*1835 Cook's wife, Elizabeth died at the age of 93.
